Downhill skiing

Thanks to excellent snow conditions, you can well enjoy the ski centres nearby (Strážný 2 km, Bubákov 4 km, Kněžický vrch 4 km, Herlíkovice 5 km, Špindlerův mlýn 14 km), which will satisfy both the beginners, and the advanced, proficient skiers. Ski rentals and ski schools in these centres are self-evident. If you wish, you can use the transport we offer in our minibus for seven people. 

Cross-country skiing

Nearby the town of Vrchlabí, there are marked tourist routes of different difficulty levels. Thanks to the project called "Krkonoše – paradise for cross-country skiers", the selected ski routes are at present mended mechanically, in an overall length of 528 kilometres. The cross-country skiers, moving on the spinal Krkonoše ski route, have a chance to explore the entire mountain range, from Rýchory in the East, all the way to the mountains called Jizerské hory in the West; or they can ride through the educational or trip nature trails surrounding all the mountain resorts and the villages in Krkonoše, leading as high as 1400 metres above sea level.

Sauna

Especially in winter, you will without a doubt appreciate our sauna with a capacity of up to six people, situated directly on the premises of the boarding house.

Other activities

If you want to relax or make a trip, you can choose from different activities. For example, there is the in-door swimming pool in Jilemnice, museums of Krkonoše in Vrchlabí, in Jilemnice, "Sindelka", the forester and hunting exposition in Harrachov, the glass museum and the glass factory in Harrachov, the Bozkov caves, Sychrov castle, or the airport Lánov near Vrchlabí, where you can reserve sightseeing flights overlooking Krkonoše in a plane equipped with skis. It is entirely up to you, which type of entertainment you choose.

Hiking and biking

When there is no snow in Krkonoše, the time is ideal for hiking and biking. Not only in the area near Vrchlabí there are marked routes in abundance, ready to lead you through the splendid scenery of Krkonoše. If you want to make the trip to the mountains easier, you can – using the funicular to Žalý, Sněžka, Portášovy boudy, Čertova hora, Medvědín, and many others. You want to go for a trip on a mountain bike, but you don't have it with you? No problem, we will be happy to lend you one.

Is the weather not ideal?

Surely it is no problem at all! You can visit the glass factory and glass museum in Harrachov, you can visit Vrchlabí, where there are the museums of Krkonoše and an Augustinian monastery and castle, Jilemnice can offer the tourists its town-hall, a castle, and Zvědavá ulička (the Curious Lane) – a collection of folk architecture. If you have time, visit also the town museum in Žacléř and its interesting expositions.

Bathing

During the summer months, you can relax by the water. There are in-door swimming pools or open air pools in Vrchlabí, Benecko, or Jilemnice.

Tennis

Right next to KOZEL, there is a tennis court of excellent quality. We will gladly lend you tennis racquets and balls.

Sauna

The sauna in the KOZEL Boarding House is available for you, to allow you to relax.

Grilling

If you wish, we will prepare the grilling according to your requirements. For this reason, there is a grill and outside sitting in KOZEL, placed under a pergola.
